Our Vicar
Rev. Edward W. Fowler
Fr. Ed is the second vicar of All Saints Anglican Church. He
assumed his responsibilities with us on May 5, 2013, after serving as curate of St. Francis Anglican Church in Houston. He holds a master of divinity degree from Cranmer Theological House. "Immanuel! Thy Kingdom Has Come," a collection of his sermons, was recently published as an e-book.
He wrote sports for newspapers for almost 30 years – Austin American-Statesman, Kansas City Star, Chicago Daily News, Houston Chronicle. He also hosted a daily radio show in Houston for several years and appeared as a panelist on a weekly television show on the ABC-TV affiliate. He is the author of "Loser Takes All," a look at Bud Adams, the Houston Oilers and bad football.
He came to saving faith at age 47 through the powerful, loving witness of his wife, Marjorie, who prayed through many difficult years waiting for him to see the truth. He will never repay that debt.
Since that time, he has served as an elder and Sunday school teacher, launched a ministry to ex-offenders, served on the boards of a classical Christian school and a church-based community development organization in Houston’s inner city and led a nursing home ministry. He has mentored men in Prison Fellowship’s InnerChange Freedom Initiative program and taught a journalism class for offenders in that program and advised them on the prison newsletter. He currently teaches a weekly Bible study at the La Plata County Jail.
Fr. Ed and Marjorie worked in overseas missions for several years, visiting
missionaries in a number of countries, mostly in the Muslim world. Fr. Ed
graduated from Cranmer Theological House in May 2009 and was ordained a deacon
in 2010. He was ordained a presbyter in 2012.
He taught Bible and New Testament Greek at John Witherspoon Seminary, an
undergraduate school in Magnolia, Texas, for four years. Marjorie, formerly a
public relations executive, serves All Saints as organist.
